September 20: The ceiling goes up.
The first row is up.
The second row goes up.
Slowly, but surely, it will be completed.
Three rows up.
Only one more to go.
We finished the ceiling in the living room and then put up some foil shield to reduce radiated heat from the roof.
This section had to go up before the dinig room ceiling because of access issues.
Hopefully, there won't be as much heat in the kneewalls becuase of this.
5 hours later the ceiling in the living room is done.
Around 9PM, the dining room ceiling is done.
Coming soon: walls...
September 22: 8 Boards up on one wall.
Plus some going around the doorway...
September 23: 8 More pieces up.
One window trimmed (mostly).
...and around the foyer area, too.
September 24: Living room is 99% complete.
Trimmed around the door...
The foyer is now completed.
And a big empty area over the fireplace!
September 27: The Dining Room is completed.
It took longer than expected.
...but now it is done.
The final challenge: The stairs.
Without the wall, we can put in a banister on the steps... eventually.
This temporary scaffold made it easier to put up the boards in the stairwell.
A false celing conceals and supports the old sagging ceiling.
Extra bracing was placed over the vaulted area, also.
Keith ponders the last pieces.
Almost completed...
A hard to reach piece?
Finished!
September 28: Finally the steps are finished.
Modern art or just scrap?
