In a revelation, an extra outlet was added to the green room since this fiberboard is also going in the dumpster.
The yellow wiring is all new. The black pipe is an unused vent or flue.
These circuits feed the new fans, outlets, and sconce lights.
These switches will control the ceiling fans.
This is the third "dual" scone location.
This sconce location was a tight fit because of the outlet located below.
These are for "eyeball lights" that will accent the fireplace mantle.
An additional cable-TV hookup in the other corner also goes upstairs to the main bedroom.
This is one of two ceiling fan mounting boxes.
The two side walls will come down in the stairway, but the ceiling and angled area will be "walled over" because of the insulation above them.
Found in the attic. A previous owner?
Keith and I reinforced the sagging header above a doorway.
Look, ma! No wall.
The fake bedroom is now just "the end of the hall".
Bunsen hangs from newly installed speaker wire.
This is the old breezeway door. It's a piece of crap.
We removed the doors from their hinges...
...then the door frame had to be ripped out.
No more door frame!
The frame came out pretty cleanly.
These big gaps will be filled with foam and trimmed after the door in mounted.
The new door slipped easily into the opening.
However it was a major pain to align.
Unfortunately, the door maker screwed up the plate locations and they don't align.
After realigning the door latches, it is done.
It took lots of glueing and chiseling, but they latch perfectly now.
This door is double-pane, steel and wood.
Keith boxed it in well.
These thermal baffles will keep insulation from falling into the ceiling.
We foamed around them to seal them and hold them in place.
The return duct on the outside wall is lined with insulating foam.
All openings into the upper floor are closed off.
We also lined this return duct to separate it from the upstairs kneewall.
