After I discovered the right front coil spring on my Fiero was broken, I became fed up with
the 168,000 mile vehicle that I had been driving for seven years and decided it was time to
upgrade. After little thought and much searching AutoTrader.com, I located a suitable replacement
not only with a reasonable price, but relatively close to home. I sent an email to the owner, he called me
back quickly, we discussed the car a little and I arranged for a test drive. To make a short story shorter,
I made and offer, he countered, and we had a deal. I picked up the car the next day and had it titled and plated
the day after. These pictures were taken on Saturday, April 19, 2003 after I vacuumed the interior, but before I wiped it down and detailed it.
It looks even better now. (Enjoy these pictures, Bilal. If you want hi-resolution pics emailed or sent to you
on cd, email me.
1997 Honda Civic del Sol
Purchased April 17, 2003
Delivered April 17, 2003
It replaces my 1987 Pontiac Fiero as my daily driver.
It is also only a 2-seater.
5-speed manual just like the Fiero
It is not perfect, but a big improvement
It only has 90,600 miles.
Gas door and trunk release are located on the driver's floor, left side.
The usual window controls with one exception.
Here is its ample sized trunk that dwarfs the Fiero's, but what is that odd looking rack?
See this latch on the roof?
The top is removeable!
That's right. The top comes off and stores in the trunk rack!
It can be raised to access groceries and dead bodies stored in the trunk.
It also locks in the down position for normal driving.
But wait, there's more! The rear window also goes down!
Here is another shot of the window in the open position.
Neat, huh?
It's as good as a convertible.
So it's not perfect. A small crack in the facia...
Ding!
Scratch, Ding!
Scratch!
